Tony puts the Green into Green Design Group, having been practising here in Cockermouth since 1978, when he set up the original practice, and then going on to form the current Practice of Green Design Group in 1989. He is well-respected in the Industry, with experience which spans 53 years, and has considerable experience in both Public and Private Sectors.

He has amassed significant expertise in both new build and refurbishment projects which include Residential, Education, Commercial, Industrial and Conservation projects and has attended a residential course at York Minster.

Tony is a past Chairman of the Cumberland Society of Architects and is on the panel of Architects approved by the Carlisle Diocese Advisory Authority Committee for works to Churches.

He cites his most significant projects as:- a large town centre development in the Midlands which included a multi-level Shopping Centre, Offices, Transport interchange, a Library and a new Market; a private hospital in Workington; winning a competition to convert Ingwell Hall and construct the adjacent Pavillions as the inaugural development of Westlakes Science and Technology Park. He was a member of the Design team which produced the Master Plan for the extension of Westlakes Science park. Tony was also involved in the renovation, refurbishment and extension of 18th Century Sella Park Hotel. He was awarded the Tyson Prize for Architecture.
