Martin Howell

Martin gained membership of the RIBA in 1991, after starting out as a technician for the PSA in London in 1978. He has worked in practices in Liverpool and London and completed his education at Liverpool University, where is still a visiting critic.

He has worked in various practices in Cumbria and travelled throughout the world – for a time running an Architectural/Engineering and Construction company in Samoa, before returning to the area. Martin joined Green Design Group in November 2005 as an Architect, going on to become an Associate Director. His architectural interests include the use of appropriate technology, sustainable buildings and social housing. He has led large multi-disciplinary teams on major commercial developments, and has recently been working for Westlakes Renaissance Framework for a number of projects in Cumbria. Although Martin works on large projects, he also relishes working on small design-led conversions and extensions
